1903 Becomes a Bolshevik.
1905 Fights against Machism.
1907 Joins the Mensheviks; remains a member until 1917.
1908 Graduates from the Philosophy Department at Bern University.
1909 Publishes the article, "Dialectical Materialism," in the anthology "Abroad." Lenin's comments on this article are in Lenin, CW, vol. 38, pp.
1914 Becomes a Menshevik-Internationalist.
1917 Leaves the Menshevik Party.
1917-1920? Lectures in philosophy at the Sverdlov University
1920-1924? Teaches philosophy at the Institute of Red Professors.
1921-1923? Works at the Marx-Engels Institute.
1924, June 9 One of the founding members of the Society of Militant Materialists and member of its presidium, which also included Bukharin, Vaganian, Luppol, Nevsky, Pokrovsky and Timiriazev.
1924-1931 Director of the Institute of Philosophy.
1926-1930 Main editor of the journal, "Under the Banner of Marxism."
1926-1927 Clashes with Akselrod and others in debate between "Mechanists" and "Dialecticians"
1928 Joins the Communist Party.
1929 Becomes an Academician in the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
1931, 25 January Criticized in the Central Committee resolution, "On the Journal «Under the Banner of Marxism»." Charged with adopting the position of "Menshevizing idealism."
1935-1945 Member of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

1956 Deborin's articles begin to be published again.
1961 Major collection of his writings is published.
1963, 8 March Dies in Moscow.
