Abram Moiseevich Deborin (Ioffe)
(1881-1963)

Welcome to the A. M. Deborin website. Our goal is to illustrate the life and works of this Marxist scholar and philosopher. A close disciple of G. V. Plekhanov in his youth, Deborin participated in many of the philosophical debates of the 1920s and 1930s. In the post-war years he fell into disfavor, but re-emerged to some prominence shortly before his death in 1963. Much of his heritage remains unknown and unstudied outside of Russia.
